Position Summary:
The Business Analyst II purpose in the program is to optimize customer retention strategy and execution across these brands to deliver on program business goals. The essence of the Business Analyst role is the ability to effectively communicate cross-functionally and at all levels of the organization. This includes individual contributors, managers, and executives on strategy, marketing, and execution teams responsible for the residential retail electricity businesses within the company umbrella. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years’ experience in business analysis for IT projects and project management. Our client is an energy company located in downtown Houston.

Essential Responsibilities:
• Business Analysis for related IT projects
• Program Coordination
• Gather, define, develop, and document, business requirements for new or existing processes and/or IT capability enhancements and projects.
• Facilitate consensus for these from key stakeholders to achieve timely and complete implementation. Requirements include use cases, process flows, business rules, activity diagrams, and screen mockups, and other types of documentation.
• Own and coordinate testing efforts both pre- and post-launch, including:
o test planning: creation of test approach, scenarios, scripts
o test execution: execution of test cases and scripts, logging of defects
o coordination of defect fixing
o coordination of business owner sign-off
o participation in cut-over planning, including rollback planning
• Drive understanding of the project across stakeholders and business units
• Drive consensus on solutions that balance desired requirements, technical limitations, schedule demands and capital allocation
• Document as-is and to-be processes with users and stakeholders. Evaluate and re-design business process flows to eliminate capabilities gap
• Set up and maintain the Requirements Traceability Matrix and other documentation
• Participate in transitioning the requirements to visual, functional, and technical designers; ensure a clear and complete understanding of the requirements via design / technical reviews to ensure the requirements are met
• Drive definition of metrics and goals for the project according to defined objectives of each project
• Routinely and effectively develop and deliver communication regarding all work being ideated, planned, initiated, executed, or already-completed to a diversity of audiences across the organization
• Help prepare meeting documentation, include power present presentations and dashboards. This includes pre-work, facilitation of meetings, and follow-up based on meeting outcomes
• Identify and pursue opportunities to fine-tune and improve program execution
• Assist with program financial management and reporting
• Assist with program personnel administration
• Support other functions of the Customer Retention program, as needed

Equipment Used/Software Needed:
• Advanced MS Office skills, including Microsoft Visio and Microsoft Project
Working Conditions:
• Work is carried out in a controlled, agreeable environment as generally represented by normal office conditions
• Some overtime required for incentive events and any special projects
• Travel may be required
Other:
• Work cooperatively with staff, clients and representatives of other companies; conduct all business in a courteous, professional manner.
• Must be willing to submit a background check and possibly a drug screen.
• Must have access to reliable transportation
• If applicable, must have valid driver's license or valid photo ID
• Must be available to work during company business hours.
