Don't let Social Media cost you your Dream Job

So, you’ve decided to search for a new job. You’ve updated your resume and are ready to begin the dreaded job search, but have you checked to see what your social media says about you?

These days everyone uses social media, that includes recruiters.

While it may not always be the case, there will be times when a recruiter searches through your social media profiles. You want to be sure that they don’t find anything obscene, because it may cause them not to call you for an interview.

Take a couple of minutes to go through your profiles and hide or delete any content that could potentially cost you a job opportunity. The easiest solution would be to make your entire profile private, but it isn’t required to do so.

Social media is a great platform, but it is one you should use carefully. The internet truly is forever, so be cautious about what you share online. Even if you were to delete a post, it is still archived and there is a possibility that someone has taken a screenshot and saved it elsewhere.
